THE TREASURER'S REPORT

"A race that is solely dependent upon another for its economic existence sooner or later dies. As we have in the past been living upon the mercies shown us by others, and by the chances obtainable, and have suffered therefrom, so will we in the future suffer if an effort is not made now to adjust our affairs."

This is a quote from the Honorable Marcus Garvey on Economics.

The mission of the Diaspora African Ras Tafari Congress of the Americas is to promote and preserve the advancement of Ras Tafari through social, cultural, economic, scientific and technological ventures.

One of the financial objective of D.A.R.C. Is to support the Great Ras Tafari Nation by assisting the elderly and the children. Since the inception of D.A.R.C, we have embarked on a number of philanthropic ventures involving the Haile Selassie High School in Kingston, Jamaica.

Currently in progress is the 'Let The Hungry Be Fed' initiative. We are funding this program by placing canisters in various locations, including New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Jamaica. In that regard we ask all to donate as much as they can for this worthy cause.

All proceeds from this venture will go to the Haile Selassie High School. To date we have collected $266.55 from these canisters. In addition $103.00 was collected from R.A.L.A.K. In September 2013. Give Thanks to the N.C.R.U for their support.

As the phrase goes, "One, one Cocoa full basket".

Other ventures includes:

Awarding a JA$20,000 scholarship to Ms Rudesha Heavens (a student of the Haile Selassie High School).

Donation of a refrigerator and a kettle to the Guidance Department (these items were specifically requested) for the cost of JA$40,000.

Funding for transportation to the Rastafari Youth Council to participate in Global Clean Up Day in the amount of
JA$10,000.

There was another donation of over US$100 used exclusively to assist one of our Elder Ras MYRIE, a survivor of The Coral Garden incident.

Also donated was JA$10,000 in support of the community initiative for the School.

Other initiative to raise money, which includes sales from our online store launched on November 2, 2013. You can support the cause by donating or purchase items online. Thanks for the support.

We also have our membership drive in progress, this requires a one time membership fee of US$39  (non refundable) and yearly dues of US$108 or US$9 monthly. There is a special rate for children under age eighteen.

We currently have two (2) established Banking Accounts with Chase Bank, one for our General Fund and the other for our Philanthropic Venture. Our Bank is located at,

                                           136 Fulton Street
