DARC "Aged Protected" Initiative

Ras Myrie - Elder & Survivor of Coral Garden Massacre

On July 23, 2013 DARC had the privilege to participate in  her first noble humanitarian gesture. Ras Myrie an elder and survivor from the Coral Garden Massacre were liberated from his unhygienic state with a long overdue immersion and new garbs. For being cared for Ras Myrie raved and stated that “Sellassie a come visit me today, Rasta!” “Me ready fe HIM now”. Sister Sandra the DARC member who spearheaded this “…aged be protected…” initiative, quipped how appreciative Mr. Myrie was for our Love and caring.

Ras Myrie has been living alone in a broken-down shack for a very long time without the Love or care that every human justly deserves. Besides being unkempt Ras Myrie recently had a stroke, he also has Dementia, Diabetes, and Hypertension and is blind in one eye.

Your participation and contribution in the DARC philanthropic initiatives will enable us to embark on similar ventures worldwide, now and into the future.

On November 10, 2013 the physical life of Ras Myrie came to an abrupt end.

On behalf of the Great Ras Tafari Nation, DARC "give thanks" for the honor, the privilege and the opportunity to render service to You. We trust that the weight on the balance scale will reflect a life of up-fullness.

Walk Good, Ras Myrie as you sojourn into the realm of ancestry.

Fiqir enya Selam!
